The remedy for pride is unwavering faith in the God of sovereign grace. “We see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12). Humility knows it is fallible, and so considers criticism and learns from it.
Pride fosters bitterness and anger; humility forgives and seeks reconciliation. Humility is a relative newcomer to social and personality psychology, at least as a trait or behavior to be studied on its own.
