There are two key components within the construct of CSR. We investigate how earnings management is associated with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and investor protection with 139 firms in ten Asian countries. We provide the first comprehensive and robust evidence on the relationship between CSR disclosure quality and the costs of corporate bonds in China.
